The Spray Technician will assist the landscape maintenance team to ensure and maintain the health of our clients’ landscapes. This person will be part of our team, learning and taking part in all aspects of maintenance, with an emphasis on applications to improve the vibrancy and longevity of our clients’ landscapes.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Inspect turf, shrubs, plant material, and other outdoor areas to determine chemical, pesticide, herbicide, and fertilizer needs.
  • Apply chemicals, pesticide, herbicide, and fertilizer as appropriate to maintain a healthy and proper condition of landscapes according to Company standards.
  • Implement Integrated Pest Management practices in the care of the landscape.
  • Recommend products, equipment, and suppliers. Submit purchase orders for products, supplies and equipment as needed with attention to budget limitations.
  • Maintain inventory of products. Ensure all safety procedures are followed with respect to storage and use of all products and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate usage and safety records for all applications in compliance with Company procedures and local, state and federal laws.
  • Train and supervise staff as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment.
  • Maintain current Certified Application Specialist licenses as required.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget for department.
  • Assist in course set-up and other course maintenance procedures as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and projected industry developments through continuous attention to industry periodicals and participation in relevant trade associations and organizations.
  • Assure the efficient and timely submission of all required reports.
  • Perform other duties as appropriate.


  • High school required; college degree or certificate preferred.
  • 1 year experience in landscape maintenance and spray applications.
  • Valid driver’s license meeting Company safety standards.
  • Acquire or possess a Texas Applicators license to include Ornamental/Turf-Herbicide, Ornamental/Turf – Insecticide & Fungicide within six months.
  • Demonstrate quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends.
