Tellepsen Landscaping Services is recognized in Houston for our creative, thoughtful, and enduring gardens as well as our collaboration with the leading residential architectural & building firms in town. We are a full-service design/build company who takes the project from inception, final design, and installation, and in most instances, ongoing maintenance to develop/manage the gardens as they mature into their original vision.

TLS is looking for a Senior Landscape Architect Designer with 8+ years of hands on experience. The candidate must be passionate about residential design, as well as creative, organized and possessing strong leadership and communication skills. The candidate should have experience in all aspects of the design process with an emphasis on detailed residential design, vision & execution. Additional qualifications would include:

• Minimum 8 years professional practice in the profession of Landscape Architecture
• Strong hands-on conceptual and excellent design skills
• Proficiency in and able to oversee the preparation of CD sets including hardscape, drainage, planting, landscape lighting, water features, construction details, and preparation of specification/bidding packages
• Time management and organizing the design department’s workflow, scheduling, prioritizing deadlines; the ability to deliver workable ideas & solutions to the Principals
• Working within established project fees/scope and assist in tracking
• Knowledge of regional plant materials is an asset
• Prior experience in developing proposals and budgets is an asset

In addition, this individual will lead a team by exhibiting strength in:

• Ability to collaborate in a team environment
• Able to delegate and monitor staff workflow
• Develop collaborative relationships with crew, subcontractors, and other TLS departments
• Willingness and a curiosity to learn and take advantage of educational opportunities; willing to mentor younger staff and colleagues
• Additional licenses and/or LEED certification in preferred
• Fluent in English, strong written and verbal skills. Second language is an asset
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe, and Microsoft Suites, Sketch Up is required

Additionally, the successful candidate will be self-motivated, anticipate the needs of clients and projects, communicate effectively orally and in writing, work independently and on a team, have a broad portfolio of design construction documents demonstrating their abilities and be available for immediate work in Houston, Texas.
